We have people over to our house at least once a week for dinner. Last Monday, I knew people were coming over for dinner, but I had to work and run errands and do laundry and on and on and on. (Anybody else??) Thankfully that morning, according to our monthly menu plan, we were going to have No Peek Beef Stew by Thriving Home Blog from our last Freezer Cooking Club Party. All I had to do was pull it out of the freezer that morning and then stick it in the oven. Voila. Dinner was done.
Honestly, I can’t think of any reason of why you wouldn’t want to have a Freezer Cooking Party. So, I’ve given you four solid reasons why you SHOULD have a freezer cooking party!
You get to spend time with your friends.
Our freezer cooking sessions take anywhere from 2 to 3 hours…depending on how much we talk and visit. You see, we break into partners and just have fun together. I mean, look at my kitchen full of friends working together to fill our freezers. Who wouldn’t like this?!?
You save time by not going to the grocery store.
Since you have meals in your freezer, you don’t have to go to the grocery as much. And, when you go you don’t buy as much, which means you don’t have to stay at the grocery that long. It’s awesome.
You save time cooking.
When you have eight people working you can cook quicker. Last month, we prepped 48 meals in an hour and a half…90 minutes. If I tried to do six meal preps just for my family, it would have taken longer than that. When everyone works together you have people prepping things, someone washing dishes, someone labeling meals, and someone getting ingredients. It is marvelous.
You save money.
When you buy in bulk, you can save money. I shop sales. I use Aldi. I go to Costco. There’s not a lot of waste…food or money or time.
