How does December get here so quickly each year?!? I mean, I turn around and I’m buying presents, decorating a tree, and attending
57 parties and programs. I must say, the main thing that helps me keep my sanity during the month of December is having a plan…especially a menu plan. I am glued to my calendar this month. Oh, and it seems someone is trying to mess with me because amidst the chaos of this month, guess what came in the mail??
A summons for jury duty. JURY DUTY!! Can you believe that? I love performing my civic duty, (Yes, I’m serious!) but if I could have picked a month for this opportunity, it might not have been this month. Come to think of it…maybe being sequestered for jury duty and being confined to a hotel for several nights wouldn’t be that bad? Maybe?!? Hmmm…
Back to the monthly menu plan…It’s full of budget, family, and freezer friendly recipes. Grab some ideas and plan with me.
- Sausage Biscuits
- Breakfast Tacos
Christmas morning we always have a big breakfast. My mom will make sausage pinwheels and we’ll have eggs, cherry turnover, ham and rolls, fruit, and hashbrown casserole. It’s epic.
- Turkey Sausage and Cheese with Pickles and Peppers
- Spinach Ravioli (from Costco)
- Steak Poppers
- Pizza Buns by Chaos2Peace
Each month I meet up with a couple of friends and we swap freezer meals. Here are some of the things that will be filling our freezers. Everyone leaves with 6 meals. I call that winning.
- Freezer Friendly Barbequed Meatballs by Money Saving Mom
- Freezer Cooking Mexican Lasagna by Cleverly Simple
Are you new to menu planning? This video clip below shows you how to plan for the month and think through your menu. By planning your menu (and sticking to it!!!) you will save time and money…I promise!
Want someone to do the planning for you?? My friend, Laura, over at Heavenly Homemakers will do just that! For $1 a week, she will email you her plan, Simple Meals. Does it get any simpler?? I think not.
PS-By using the code, SIMPLE10, you will receive $10 off of the year, making the cost less than $1 per week. How lovely, right?!?
