It has been an unusually mild winter in our neck of the woods. The other day, it was cold and dreary and it just seemed like the perfect time for a bowl of ham and beans. I keep things really simple around here and I don’t even soak my beans. I literally dump a package of dry beans in the crockpot with lots of water, some chicken bouillon cubes, and a few spices. I turn that slow cooker on high and walk away. If I happen to have leftover ham, I add that…making this a perfectly simple and classic dinner.
