I don’t know about you, but around here mornings are peaceful, serene, and just down right delightful…except usually not. Our oldest son has to walk out the door for school by 6:45 am. 6:45 am! Man, that’s early. We are all early risers around here, but that’s early for even us. (To read about how we prepare for each morning, click here.) Enter the Sausage Cream Cheese Roll Ups.
These are so easy to make. You just need three simple ingredients: sausage, cream cheese, and tortillas. You can use whole wheat tortillas or really any kind of wrap. My boys think that flour tortillas are…well, the best thing EVER, since we don’t eat them very often.
Cook and drain your sausage, add 8 ounces of cream cheese until it’s all mixed together, and then spread it on the tortilla (as pictured above).
Now, take your tortilla and roll it up, fold side down. Using a bread knife, slice each tortilla carefully and as evenly as possible. For my type A friends reading this…relax. They don’t have to be perfect. Say it with me (a type A in recovery), these DO NOT have to be perfect.
As you slice the roll ups, just place them in a storage container. Voila. All your morning needs are solved. Well, maybe not all of them, but at least a few of them.
You can serve these at your breakfast table, while on vacation (because you know I pack a crockpot!), or maybe in the car when you’re running late for school. I mean, 6:45 am?!? Can we all agree that every mom needs a plan when school begins at 6:45??
Here’s to making it with a great breakfast though!
- 1 lbs. Sausage
- 1 8 oz. Cream Cheese
- Flour Tortillas
- Cook and drain your sausage, add the cream cheese until mixed together, spread on tortilla, and slice.
- This can be double or tripled or whatever you need to do to meet your breakfast/snacking needs.
