I’ve talked in the past before about my love for freezer cooking. I’ve given a list of Reasons You Should Host a Freezer Party and How You Host a Freezer Party. Let me just say, I love freezer cooking. Everything I know about freezer cooking came from my friends at Thriving Home Blog. But recently, time just did not allow for an entire Freezer Cooking Party. Bummer, right?
Wrong. I just decided to do things a little differently this time. This time I made my freezer recipes, but I tripled each recipe. Do you know how much longer it takes to brown 1 pound of ground beef rather than 3 pounds of ground beef? About 30 seconds. (Okay, I’ve never timed myself, but it really doesn’t take that much longer.) Tripling recipes is really a great way to go. When I have a night at home or an hour here or an hour there, I’m freezer cooking…maybe three or four times a month. You know what else is great?!? Labeling your food.
Want to know how I know this?!? I gave two friends what I thought was Bolognese Sauce, but it was actually Super Sloppy Joes. Whoops. Thankfully, my sweet friends just smiled and said it was great. And, thankfully my sweet friend over at Morning Motivated Mom has these easy to print freezer labels. Trust me. I’ll be printing these before my next session.
Anybody else freezer cooking? I’d love to know how you’re filling your freezer!
This is what I have for now. Oh, I’ve also started keeping a freezer inventory. When I make my monthly menu I just look at the posted inventory and see what needs to be used. It’s just great! (This is what I used.)
